Meet the Director
Fabiane M. Hirsch (Kruse)

Dr. Fabi Hirsch has over 20 years of experience as a certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Her clinical focus is communication disorders resulting from stroke, head injury, and other neurological disorders. Her key area of interest is aphasia.

She received her Master's Degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Speech & Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

Dr. Hirsch has provided Speech-Language Pathology services in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, university clinics, and home health. She provided individual and group therapy services and supervised graduate-level student clinicians in the Aphasia Clinic at the University of Arizona during her doctoral studies as well as coordinating the program for a year after completing her doctorate. Subsequently, she founded and directed the Carondelet Aphasia Program at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. In September of 2012, she opened her own practice - Saguaro Center for Speech & Language, PLLC - which is the proud home of the Aphasia Center of Tucson. As well as overseeing all aspects of the aphasia program, she currently leads aphasia group sessions, mentors students and volunteers, and provides skilled individual speech therapy services for adults with neurogenic communication disorders.
